Specialising in remote equipment, fleet management and access management, Tecmic has placed at the disposal of companies and local councils two products aimed at optimising waste collection: XtraN, a fleet management system, and Ecogest, aimed at the remote management of recycling points.
XTraN is the most advanced fleet management system on the market. The package designed specifically for waste management allows the location of vehicles to be known, as well as providing management of the fleet. By means of a simple user friendly terminal, the user may send and receive tasks and records on collections and circuits effected. In order to optimise fuel consumption and distance travelled, the system allows service orders to be sent in real time to the vehicles concerned.
Besides this information, supplied by the driver, the on-board XtraN unit collects, processes and conveys all information relevant to the operations manager, such as operating times, distance travelled, fuel consumed and even speeding and excess RPM events. The elimination of daily service reports improves the performance of the organisation responsible for the waste collection.
Ecogest is Tecmic’s solution for the remote monitoring of recycling points. This system allows the contents levels of the various recycling bins to be known by means of a unit which signals the control centre whenever a preset level is reached. When linked to XtraN, the system allows routes/tours as well as the number of emptying operations to be optimised, besides producing reports on the contents level and waste tonnage collected, by type and by region.
Both solutions are currently in use at several local councils, namely in Vila Nova de Famalicão, Guimarães, Fafe and Vieira do Minho.
