(…)”Ecogest is one of Tecmic’s solutions that is being implemented at ‘cruise speed’’ in Portugal,” explains Dolores Torres, Marketing & Indirect Sales Director at Tecmic, a company dedicated to the conception and marketing of telemetry equipment. This solution, entirely designed by Tecmic, is composed of one unit per recycling point, capable of sending back data using telemetry, reporting to the control centre the data collected regarding the containers’ fill level.
The “Ecogest” system is then able to later and automatically create the circuits which will optimise the collection operation. According to Dolores Torres, “the studies and analysis made have shown that Ecogest’s performance allows a reduction of about 30% in total operating costs”.
Through “Ecogest” operators can get to know how many containers are completely full, enabling them to reduce fuel costs by eliminating unnecessary collection journeys, with associated vehicle maintenance and human resource costs. (…)
